ONE TEAM, CARING FOR YOU
Your doctors and nurses work together, each bringing their clinical expertise to your care.
Skincare, and other
things you may want
to know
Usually, yes – but you may not need everything you’re currently using.
If you proceed with a Qr8 treatment plan, your nursing team will review your existing skincare and create a simple routine that works alongside your medical care. Wherever possible, we’ll keep products you already own rather than asking you to replace everything.
Some products may need to be paused or used differently, particularly if they increase irritation or don’t work well with your treatment.
You don’t need an elaborate routine. We’ll help you work out what’s useful, what isn’t, and what your skin actually needs.
Yes. For convenience, we stock a small, carefully selected range of supporting skincare commonly recommended by our clinical team.
This is particularly helpful for patients outside metropolitan areas, where access to suitable pharmacy skincare can be limited.
There’s no requirement to purchase skincare from Qr8. Where appropriate, our nurses will happily recommend products you can purchase elsewhere or incorporate products you already own.
We understand these considerations can be important when choosing skincare.
The supporting skincare supplied directly by Qr8 is selected with ingredient quality, tolerability and suitability for medical skin care in mind. Where vegan or cruelty-free status is important to you, let your nursing team know and we can take this into account when making skincare recommendations.
We don’t use “clean”, “natural” or “organic” as measures of whether something is safe or appropriate for your skin. “Clean” has no standard scientific or regulatory definition, and natural or organic ingredients are not inherently safer or better tolerated than synthetic ones.
When medical treatment is recommended, suitability and safety are determined by your doctor based on your individual circumstances.
Not all components of the packaging used for pharmacy-prepared items can currently be recycled through household recycling.
There are also specific requirements around the safe preparation, containment and transport of pharmacy items, which limit some packaging options.
We aim to keep packaging as minimal as practicable while maintaining appropriate protection during storage and delivery, and we continue to review more sustainable options as they become suitable.
Your Qr8 formulation is freshly prepared by the pharmacy and has a 90-day compounding expiry date.
You’ll find the exact expiry date printed on the pharmacy label attached to your container.
Do not use it after the expiry date. If you’re unsure whether yours is still within date, check the label or contact our team and we’ll be happy to help.

No. Qr8 medical care is provided to the individual patient who has been assessed by our doctor, and any treatment subsequently recommended is for that person only.
For patients under 18, a parent or legal guardian can assist with the required paperwork and must be present for consultations as required.
You’re also welcome to have a friend or family member attend your consultation as a support person. If you require an interpreter to communicate with your doctor, please contact us before your appointment so we can advise you about appropriate interpreting services.
Your privacy and confidentiality are fundamental to your medical care.
Qr8 uses secure systems designed for managing health information and telehealth consultations, and we handle your personal and health information in accordance with our legal and professional privacy obligations.
Your clinical information and photographs are used for your care and continuity of care and are not used for marketing without your express consent. We also do not record the audio or video from your consultations.
Like other healthcare providers, Qr8 is required to retain medical records for prescribed periods and cannot simply delete a clinical record on request where we have a legal obligation to retain it.
Your safety comes first. Qr8 provides care in accordance with Australian standards for telehealth and good medical practice, and our doctors will only provide treatment when they determine that online care is clinically appropriate for you.
We’re also committed to providing a kind, respectful environment for patients, clinicians and staff. We ask that everyone who uses our service extends the same courtesy to our team. Abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour may result in access to Qr8 services being restricted.
